Last updated: 6 February 2026

1) About these terms

These terms apply to your use of the Digital Certificates Portal and Centre Portal operated by Agored Cymru (we, us, our). By accessing or using the portal(s), you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, you should not use the portal(s).

2) Who can use the portal

2.1 Learners and certificate holders

If you are a learner or certificate holder, you may use the portal to view your digital certificate(s) and related records. Where the portal provides a download function, you may download your own certificate(s) for your personal use.

2.2 Centre users

If you are a centre user, you may use the Centre Portal to carry out permitted actions linked to your role (for example viewing records, managing learner notifications, and placing orders for printed documents).

You must only access learner records and services that you are authorised to access.

3) Accounts, passwords and security

You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access to your account.

You must not share accounts or login details with anyone.

We may suspend or restrict access if this is necessary for security or to prevent misuse.

4) Acceptable use

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the portal(s) or related systems
  • scrape, harvest, or bulk download information except as needed for normal use
  • interfere with the operation or security of the portal(s) or introduce harmful code

5) Smart Verify (QR code validation)

Some certificates include a QR code. Scanning the QR code takes you to a Smart Verify page that provides an on-screen verification result and presents an electronic representation of the document being scanned so that the viewer can validate it.

If you share a certificate (or its QR code) with others, you are responsible for deciding who you share it with.

We may apply controls to protect Smart Verify from misuse.

6) Certificates, records and accuracy

The portal(s) display certificate and record information based on Agored Cymru’s systems.

If you think information is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us using the contact details on the portal.

7) Intellectual property

All text, graphics, branding, and other content on the portal(s) is owned by us or our licensors unless stated otherwise.

You may view and use the portal(s) for their intended purpose. Where the portal provides a download function, you may download your own certificate(s) for personal use and, where applicable, share them with an employer, education provider, or other third party at your discretion.

You must not reproduce, publish, or reuse other portal content without our permission.

8) Availability

We aim to keep the portal(s) available, but we may suspend access for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.

9) Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss arising from your failure to keep your login details secure, or for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the portal(s).

10) Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
